Emerging Site and Production Crew

Each Emerging site crew member will be assigned to a specific site location and delivery team across the festival.

You will work closely with the Production Manager and Company Manager, supporting the coordination and delivery of rehearsals, performances, and live event operations within your assigned site.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced production role within a complex outdoor festival environment, offering structured support alongside real responsibility in a professional setting.

You will be embedded within a wider production team while gaining experience of multi-location stage management in live public space contexts.

Key Responsibilities

Emerging Stage Managers will:

• Support the day-to-day running of an assigned festival site

• Assist with rehearsal scheduling, performance calling, and company coordination

• Liaise with production, technical, artistic, and community teams on site

• Support the smooth delivery of live outdoor performances and events

• Manage communication between teams, artists, and production departments

• Assist with get-ins, get-outs, and site transitions

• Maintain clear running notes, documentation, and show information

• Work closely with the Production Manager and the assistant stage and production manager to ensure safe and efficient delivery

• Help respond to live production needs in a fast-moving outdoor environment

• Contribute to maintaining a calm, organised, and responsive working process

Who this role is for

We are looking for individuals who:

• Have some stage management training or practical experience

• Are at an early stage in their professional career or seeking to build confidence in the field

• Have an understanding of basic show building and breaking, people, set and prop management and supporting the creative team to safely deliver art in public space. 

• An understanding of generating call sheets and administrative tasks that help to manage the wider team of artists and communities. 

• Are interested in expanding their practice into outdoor arts, festivals, or site-specific work

• Are open to working in multi-site, non-traditional performance environments

• Can work calmly, clearly, and collaboratively under pressure

• Are highly organised, reliable, and proactive

• Are interested in learning within a professional production structure

Desirable

• Interest or experience in outdoor arts, festivals, or public realm performance

• Experience working across multiple teams or performance spaces

• A developing interest in large-scale participatory or community-led work

• Confidence working in fast-changing live environments

• Experience working with power tools and manual handling

• First Aid qualification. 

• Have experience working with site and public realm infrastructure and safety equipment

Support & Structure

• Each Stage Manager will be assigned to a dedicated site and team

• They will be supported by the Production Manager and Company Manager

• This is a structured entry-level role with mentoring and on-the-job learning

• The role offers meaningful experience within a large-scale professional festival production
