Creative Producer
Tin Shed Theatre Co. is seeking an ambitious and experienced City Designer to join the team for the delivery of the Y Bont International Festival.
Y Bont is the culmination of a five-year international placemaking project connecting communities and artists across three post-industrial locations: Newport (Wales), Rochefort (France), and Bilbao (Basque Country). Through artistic exchange, public engagement, and creative interventions, the project explores the relationship between people, place, heritage, and identity.
The festival will be a landmark weekend celebration bringing together large-scale outdoor performance, site-responsive installation, public space activation, and community-led participation. Drawing upon Tin Shed Theatre Co.'s expertise in placemaking and socially engaged practice, the programme will transform public spaces across Newport into vibrant sites of encounter, creativity, and celebration.
At the heart of the festival will be a major public event marking the reopening of the iconic Newport Transporter Bridge following its three-year restoration programme. This significant cultural moment presents an opportunity to celebrate Newport's heritage while showcasing the city to regional, national, and international audiences.
The project is being delivered through a network of local, national, and international partnerships, including close collaboration with Newport City Council and a range of cultural, civic, and community stakeholders. The festival aims not only to create a memorable artistic experience but also to elevate Newport's profile as a destination for culture, heritage, and tourism.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Creative Producer with substantial experience of delivering ambitious outdoor arts projects, festivals, and site-specific work at scale.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Creative Director to shape, develop, and realise the artistic vision for the festival, ensuring a cohesive and compelling audience experience across multiple days, sites, and formats. They will bring a strong understanding of dramaturgy, audience journey, and place-based storytelling, alongside the practical expertise required to manage complex creative partnerships and large-scale event delivery.
The Creative Producer will act as a key bridge between artists, communities, partners, stakeholders, and production teams, ensuring clear communication, strong collaboration, and the successful realisation of the project's artistic ambitions.
Working alongside the Company Manager, the postholder will support the management of budgets, contracts, schedules, and delivery processes, overseeing freelance teams and external partners to ensure work is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
