We are currently approaching secondary schools across Wales and the West of England in an attempt to talk about our latest production of John Steinbecks Of Mice and Men. We first put the piece together in 2008 and received great feedback from numerous people. "Tin Sheds brand of theatre is innovative and exciting; accessible for those who would not typically visit the theatre." Buzz Magazine.We feel schools may benefit from a live performance of the play, either because the text is being studied as part of the students English syllabus, or for a Drama/Performing arts class wanting to see a production live at their school. Our performance work aims to be exciting and engaging with its subject matter, making it appealing to a younger audience. Whilst the workshops we are also offering are a fresh, exciting and unique way to get students exploring the text. "The performance and the workshop were outstanding. The company were thoroughly prepared and professional and made a big impression on our year 10 students. I would recommend them to any educational establishment wishing to promote Drama or cross curricular themes through drama." If you are interested in anything we are doing, or have any questions about our Of Mice and Men tour please don't hesitate to get in touch.Aesthetically the piece is subtle; we use crates and wooden pallets to represent the confinements of the bunkhouse which could transform to create the open and freeing nature of the river side scenes as a direct juxtaposition. The staging is simple but impressive. Never forgetting the importance of entertainment we have an expertly cast group of actors who help keep the action fresh and the feel of the piece real. We feel that emotionally moving our audience is the best way to convey the messages of the book.
